Fruid Swim and Fire for Lammas Harvest Festival
Mark the Harvest Festival of Lammas, with a swim and fire at Fruid Reservoir situated in the wilds of the Upper Tweed. Quiet, expansive and often flown over by osprey.
Saturday 1st August, the following day, is Lammas, traditionally the festival of harvest, half way between the summer solstice and the autumn equinox.
Come and join us for a relaxing evening swim in this special place. Dip in good company, celebrate what you have gathered so far this year and then gather around a warm fire for hot drinks, shared snacks and a seasonal story.
After meeting at the crossroads we will continue along the road to Fruid Reservoir. Parking by the damhead we have a 10 minute walk to our swim spot on a gently sloping gravel beach.
We will take our time to meet each other, slow down and arrive in this beauitful place. Before getting in the water we will light a small fire to gather around after our swim and consider what we can harvest from this year so far.
After getting changed we will enter the water together and enjoy dipping in our wild surroundings.
After there will be time to chat around the fire, maybe a seasonal story and wild foraged kelly kettle tea and shared snacks.
Come and mark this moment in the seasonal calender in good company.
- Personal swim kit, plenty of warm layers for afterwards.
- Please pack kit in a back pack for easy carrying on the short walk.
- Suitable footwear for walking on uneven terrain.
- Water shoes are essential,

- Less than 24hrs prior to start time, no refund or rescheduling is available.
- Option to transfer booking to another swimmer of similar ability is available with prior agreement of Tweed Valley Wilding.
- If the conditions on the day aren't ideal but the activity is still safe to take place, no refunds are available.
- Should Tweed Valley Wilding need to cancel the session due to adverse conditions or personal circumstances a full refund will be offered.
