Loch Skeen Swim Adventure 


Come on an evening trip up into the wilds. Loch Skeen is a pristine high loch nestled up in the hills. 

We'll walk up past the gorgeous Grey Mares Tail waterfall, for a swim in the wild.

You will go home feeling like you have been on an adventure and maybe have met abit of your wilder self.

After meeting at the car park  we'll take a moment time to help us step away from the bussle of everyday life before we begin our 1 hour walk up to the stunning Loch Skeen. Going at a gentle pace and stopping regularly on the way to view the Grey Mares Tail waterfall and the view we will head into the different world of the Southern Uplands.

Arriving at Loch Skeen we will prepare for a swim together in its clear waters before sitting to eat our bring food to share picnic and hot wild foraged tea.

Fed, swum and watered we will descend again along the path to the car park.

  • Personal swim kit, with plenty of warm layers including a wooly hat. 
  • Water shoes are essential.
  • Bring a tow float if you have one or you can borrow one.
  • Suitable footwear for walking on uneven terrain.
  • Walking poles if you find them helpful.
  • Waterproof jacket and trousers, Scotland's weather in the hills is unpredictable.
  • Some food to add into the picnic.
  • Hot drink.
  • Please pack all items in a rucksac for ease of carrying

Car Park charges of £5 per car, consider lift sharing where possible. Free to National Trust for Scotland Members

  • More than 5 days prior to start time, refunds, less booking fees of 4%, are available.
  • More than 24hrs prior and less than 5 days to start time, no refunds are available but option to reschedule or accept a credit voucher.
  • Less than 24hrs prior to start time, no refund or rescheduling is available.
  • Option to transfer booking to another swimmer of similar ability is available with prior agreement of Tweed Valley Wilding.
  • If the conditions on the day aren't ideal but the activity is still safe to take place, no refunds are available.
  • Should Tweed Valley Wilding need to cancel the session due to adverse conditions or personal circumstances a full refund will be offered.
Grey Mares Tail Nature Reserve Car Park
Previous experience of wild swimming. The path up to Loch Skeen is steep and narrow in places with a sheer drop on one side for sections. There are a few rocks you need to step over or around. Please only book this event if this is appropriate for your physical fitness and ability.
